Where It Began

Purrniture was never conceived as a small business opportunity.

Like many cat owners, I was never inspired by what was available in stores. Most cat furniture felt poorly designed — too lightweight, too small, or simply not built for how cats actually live. Pieces would wobble, wear out quickly, or sit unused in the corner.

Even the better-looking options rarely felt worth the price.

So I decided to build something better.

The first piece came out of pure curiosity — a cat tree that was large enough, sturdy enough, and interesting enough that my cats would actually use it. I kept it simple: use accessible materials and think like a cat.

It wasn’t perfect, but my cats loved it.

That was enough.

What started as a weekend project turned into a hobby. Over the next two years, I kept refining designs and building cat trees and shelves for myself and friends — always guided by the same idea: build something the cat chooses, not something they ignore.
